Ahmed Al-Malawany

Ahmed Al-Malawany is an Egyptian novelist, playwright and screenwriter, born in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1980. Since 2010, he has published a large body of literary work and won many Egyptian literary prizes. The most important of these include the 2009 Nabil Farouk Prize for Science Fiction, the 2015 Ihsan Abdel Qudous Prize for the Short Story, the 2015 Akhbar Al-Adab newspaper prize for his novel Strawberry Pink (2016), and the 2019 Sawiris Cultural Award for his novel The Factory (2018). He has written numerous plays which have been performed in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
