Statement on Bassim Khandaqji release

The International Prize for Arabic Fiction is delighted by news of the release of Palestinian author Basim Khandaqji from Israeli prison after 21 years in captivity. We congratulate you, Basim, once again on winning the 2024 prize for your novel A Mask, the Colour of the Sky, and wish you continued success and achievements which enrich the world of Arabic fiction.
